Baptism:  New Life and Ways of Living

"As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.  At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him."  Matthew 3:16

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!  The community of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish looks forward to welcoming your child into the Body of Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism. Baptism, as the first of the sacraments of initiation, is a vital step toward leading a life centered in Jesus Christ.  The Rite of Baptism invites you to reflect on your hopes and dreams for your child as well as on the values you communicate in everyday life.  In the Rite, parents are reminded that they are the primary teachers of their children, and that the home is the “domestic church,” the first and most influential faith influence on a child.

The usual time for Baptism is the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Baptisms may also be scheduled during Mass and by arrangement with Pastor.  Pre-Baptism instructions held bi-monthly and are required for parents and godparents. Please call Diane or Father Mende for appointments or more information at 664-5703.
